Do I have to complete all the questions in the SkillsBank Discovery Section?
No – You will benefit from thinking about all the employability skills and your personal responses from the first minute you use the app. You may wish to build up your SkillsBank over several sessions. And you don’t have to be at a desk or in a classroom to use the app – if something comes to you on the bus, then input into your SkillsBank.

Are all interview questions covered off in the Interview Section?
We cover all the most frequently asked questions, and you should be able to answer them confidently using examples and responses you have developed with Skills2Use. However, you will need to listen to the question asked and think about how it fits with your SkillsBank responses.

Should I look at material from different users, e.g., Internship Questions and Graduate Questions?
Focus initially on the pathway that is most relevant to you. However, if you browse through other segments, you will notice how much common ground there is between different users. An Apprentice and a Graduate are both likely to be asked:

Tell me about yourself.
Why do you want this job?
What are your weaknesses?
By all means, you can practise with other segments.

And Remember there are plenty of other sources of advice on the web!

How can Skills2Use be used on my Employability course?
Many employability courses contain modules on interviews, skills discovery, presentation skills, voluntary work, team projects, social media. Just as in Youth Citizenship courses, many students forget the valuable skills they acquire on these courses. Here is a way helping to showcase you in the best possible light

Track examples of employability skills as you go through the modules.
Upload images and video content
Develop a video CV
Track your activity
Share feedback through the forum or share draft application documents for feedback through the app
You can combine the Employability course with your experiences from other life segments and build confidence to boost your evidence backed SkillsBank.

How does Skills2Use work with my existing Careers Adviser?
Skills2Use will provide additional information on your employability skills, and you can share all your documents more easily and efficiently with them.

What if I don’t have a designated Careers Adviser to mentor me?
The SkillsBank, documentation and interview preparation capabilities are powerful in their own right. If there is no Careers Adviser resource available, share your information with alternate mentors, perhaps your parents. If you still feel you need third party support then browse our Partners Section.

What if there are not many responses to questions in the Forum Page?
Sharing ideas about skills with your peers can be useful. The Forum has just been launched, and it will take time to build up responses. In the meantime, a Skills2Use moderator may answer some queries.

Will Skills2Use provide career choice and information on course options and employment schemes?
No. Skills2Use helps to maximise your chances by increasing your confidence and improving your applications and interview preparation. We do not provide Information, Advice and Guidance services. However, your SkillsBank will be a useful input to those discussions.

What devices and platforms will Skills2Use work on?
Web browsers Chrome or Firefox, Android, and iOS devices

What video or sound files can be uploaded?
You should upload your video content to YouTube and cut and paste the URL into the box provided. Currently, YouTube is the only supported video sharing platform, but we are working on adding more
